1936-1939 St. Paul Directories: Felice Bacigalupo

The 1936 St. Paul Directory had a Felice J. Bacialupo living at 166 W Central Av. The second floor was vacant. Recall that in the 1910 Census, Felice went by the name of Jack. It's possible that his middle name was taken from his father, Giacomo, and anglicized. Interestingly across the street at 163 W Central was Ernest Strenger, whose daughter, Frieda, eventually married Felice's son, Joseph as we see in the next year's directory.

The 1937 Directory listed 18 Bacigalupos. Again we had Felice J. and his wife Teresa, residing at 166 W Central Av. This directory also showed all three sons: James A., still at home; Joseph S., [sic] with his new wife Frieda E., living across the street at 163 W Central; and, Louis F., a helper at Larry's Auto Glass, living at 333 Marshall Av. Note that Felice 2 was running a grocery at 423 Fry.

In the 1939 Directory, Felice [no "J" now] and Teresa are still at 166 W Central Av., but their son, James A. is no longer listed. We can assume that most likely he moved out of the area. Jos C., now a watchman, and wife Frieda E. were still at 163 W Central. Felice and Teresa's other son, Louis, married Pearl [McSherry] and was living at 255 Cathedral Pl.
